Johnston County is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Specialist in our Onsite Wastewater/Wells Program (see attached job announcement). REHS salary will be based on experience. Consideration will also be given to REHS Interns. Interns can expect base salary plus two additional increases; 5% increase for completion of Authorization, and 6% after full registration as an REHS. - Onsite Wastewater/Well Program: Individuals needed to perform on-site evaluation for determining adequacy, application, permitting and inspection for residential, commercial, and industrial on-site wastewater disposal systems, private drinking water supplies, water sampling, consultation, investigations of public health problems. Education and consultation of the aforementioned to the public will be needed on a consistent basis.
