The Forsyth County Department of Public Health is looking for a fully qualified Environmental Health Specialist to join the FLI – Food, Lodging and Institutions team!
Forsyth County is the fourth largest county in NC, with Winston-Salem being the 5th largest city, which offers a variety of opportunities to expand your food knowledge and experience. If you decide to choose Forsyth County as part of your career path, you will enjoy working as part of a diverse team (although large, we work hard to make sure everyone knows each other and works well together!). Additionally, you will be afforded opportunities to sharpen your skills as part of the FDA Standardization process (FDA Standard on staff) as well as attend large conferences/educational events. Furthermore, we work diligently to offer a relatively low inspection workload per inspector as we have several team-based inspections to cover venues such as the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum (home of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons basketball, concerts and more), Truist Football Field (home of WFU Football), Truist Baseball Field (home of the Winston-Salem Dash minor league team), Bowman Gray Stadium (NASCAR-sanctioned racetrack), Atrium Health / Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and much more. We are also the home to one of the largest NC county fairs in the Carolina Classic Fair. Forsyth County has much to offer with schedule flexibility, an on-site employee health clinic, and other great benefits.
There is so much more that could be said for our growing program! If you have any questions regarding the position, please feel free reach out to me directly. Thank you!
Intern salary starts at $42,956.88 and full REHS salary starts at $49,727.96. Both salaries are negotiable based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
