After an extensive pay & classification study, Burke County Environmental Health is reposting two open positions. These REHS positions will focus in Food & Lodging and Children’s Environmental Health. Authorized environmental health specialists are preferred but potential interns are encouraged to apply. Our small but growing county has a population of 90,000 citizens. We are also only an hour away from Asheville and an hour and half away from Charlotte. Burke County is home to the Western Campus of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics and Western Piedmont Community College. Lake James State Park and South Mountains State Park are both located in the county, as well as a portion of the Pisgah National Forest.
Hiring Range: $57,387.00 – $72,987.00 ($27.59 – $35.09 per hour, dependent on qualifications)
